Scaling AI-Native Phone Infrastructure for Emerging Markets
Designed the developer GTM and enterprise positioning for an ultra-low-latency voice AI infrastructure platform targeting Africa, LATAM, and MENA.
The Client
KrosAI is an AI-native phone infrastructure built to provision local phone numbers and stream calls into any AI agent (including Vapi, Retell, and ElevenLabs). They focus strictly on emerging markets, bypassing the latency and local-accent limitations of global CPaaS providers like Twilio and Vonage to deliver sub-20ms latency.
The Challenge
Despite having superior sub-second latency routing for noisy networks, KrosAI faced a dual challenge: getting AI developers to build on their API instead of defaulting to legacy CPaaS, and convincing enterprise BPOs that AI agents could reliably handle Level-1 customer support in regions with heavy localized accents.
The Strategy
Engineering & Dev Community
Leveraged our developer community to build out comprehensive API SDKs and "Quickstart" boilerplate repositories connecting KrosAI to popular AI agent frameworks (Vapi, LiveKit).
Legal & VC Structuring
Structured their enterprise pricing tiers for BPO pilot programs and navigated the complex telecom compliance requirements for local carrier integrations across 50+ countries.
Marketing & Acquisition
Shifted the narrative from "cheap telecom" to "AI-Native Infrastructure." Partnered with AI developer influencers to showcase live demos of KrosAI handling complex, heavily accented calls in real-time.
The Execution
- Launched targeted technical content addressing specific developer pain points, such as "Sub-second Latency: How We Architected Voice AI for African Networks."
- Organized regional virtual hackathons challenging developers to build localized AI fintech assistants using the KrosAI API.
- Designed a frictionless developer onboarding funnel, reducing the "Time-to-First-Call" metric from days to under 5 minutes.
The Results
KrosAI successfully transitioned from an emerging tool to the definitive standard for Voice AI in underserved regions. Their successful Product Hunt launch and developer-first GTM strategy secured widespread adoption among startups building automated KYC callbacks and customer support agents.
"Their deep engineering background meant they actually understood our API architecture, while their VC lens helped us position the product perfectly for enterprise BPOs. They don't just market; they build scalable adoption pipelines.
